How to Focus Your Mindset?

The most important organ in our body is the mind.

The mind controls every area of our body in either a positive or negative way.
We all experience thoughts, close to a million a day. Good thoughts. Bad thoughts. Thoughts that make you question, why are you even thinking about that! Right?

Trust me, we have all been there!
The purpose of this writing is to help you learn to focus your mindset.
You have the power to determine what is an important thought and what thoughts need to be dismissed.

To focus your mindset, we will discuss 5 steps:

Step 1: Be aware of your thoughts.

You are the only person that hear your thoughts. I feel it is important to address this fact, because you must be aware of your thoughts. Truly acknowledge them. Categorize them, are they positive? negative? uplifting? sabotaging? In this step you are simply acknowledging what is already there.

Step 2: Determine your desired thoughts.

Now that you have evaluated your thoughts, you must determine your desired thoughts. What kind of thoughts do you want to have? What do you want to focus on? You have the power to change your mindset.

Step 3: Create a one sentence refresher.

Negative thoughts are inevitable, they will come. However, if you are determined to have positive thoughts, create a one sentence refresher. It could be as simple as “not today” or “I acknowledge this thought; however, it is dismissed.” Whatever feels natural to you. A one sentence refresher will help you keep your thoughts positive.

Step 4: Keep a journal for your thoughts.

I absolutely love journals! I can’t get enough of them. I advise you to get a journal only for your thoughts. This will be the one place to write your thoughts down and evaluate them. No matter negative or positive, write every thought that comes to mind.

Step 5: Hold your thoughts accountable.

Finally, Sis your mindset is created from your entertained thoughts. You are empowered to hold your thoughts accountable. If you find your mindset shift to a negative one, quickly address your thoughts and replace each negative thought with a positive one.

Nurse Sis, you have so many responsibilities even beyond your career. It is important to keep your thoughts and mindset positive. We are treating individuals in their most vulnerable state, you must learn to stay positive.

Take these steps along with you in your journey Sis. I’m rooting for your positive, winning, mindset.
